Accompanied by the vice governor, Laura Stratta, Bordet received at the Paracao Athletic Club, in the capital of Entre Rios, the athletes from the different departments of the province who will participate in the disciplines: U-14 swimming, U-15 futsal, U-16 beach handball and U-16 rugby.

He said that he felt “very happy to be able to share with the young people from different parts of the province who meet today for the finals in the city of Paraná,” and stressed that the Evita Games “brought together a total of 65,000 young people throughout the territory of the province,” of which 1,000 will go to participate in the finals at the federal level.

Bordet valued this sporting event: “For those who once participated in them, it means the collective effort of working as a team; it means the possibility of excelling in sport; But the most important thing is the training that sport gives to each young person.”

The provincial president was accompanied by the Minister of Social Development, Marisa Paira; the vice-mayor of Paraná, Andrea Zoff; the president of the Iapser Foundation, Mariel Ávila; the Secretary of Sports, José Gómez; the Undersecretary of Sports, Adrián Perotti; the Undersecretary of Sports of Paraná, Liliana Guzmán and the president of the Paracao Club, Yanina Fortina, among other authorities.

Sport as an engine of growth

Meanwhile, the vice mayor of Paraná, Andrea Zoff, said that “having the opportunity to receive them and be their hosts fills us with pride and happiness because as a municipal management, we work so that sport is one of the engines of growth and development of our society.”

He stressed that “we are a city that lives sport with passion and social commitment; and we understand it as dynamic and integrating and full of values such as companionship, solidarity and respect”.

For his part, the Secretary of Sports, José Gómez, said that the finals of four disciplines in Paraná will be played “for three days”, and recalled that “last week we did something similar with women’s football and mixed football, with 800 participants”.

He added that Paraná is “host of this beautiful social encounter,” and valued that “the Evita Games are the most inclusive competition in Latin America.” In addition, he pointed out that “we are living a historic edition, because it is the 75th-anniversary edition of the Evita Games, so the boys are making history here today.”

After the official opening, the group’s Division X Sance Studio and Por esta vez were presented.

About the Evita Games

Through joint work between the government of Entre Ríos and the Municipality of Paraná, the Evita Youth Games continue to be held in the provincial capital in their provincial stage in different sports disciplines, both individual and collective.

This time the finals are in U-14 swimming, U-15 futsal, U-16 beach handball and U-16 rugby, all in the women’s and men’s branches, and are played from July 31 to August 2. The winners of each discipline in this provincial stage will qualify for the national final to be held in Mar del Plata, from September 25 to 30.

The delegations arrived in the provincial capital in the morning and carried out the corresponding accreditation in the Mayo Room. After settling in the different accommodations and having lunch, the athletes had the respective welcome from the provincial and municipal authorities. It was developed in the facilities of the Paracao Athletic Club and housed around 300 boys and girls from different departments of the province.

At this stage, the disciplines will have different scenarios, since swimming takes place in the facilities of the Club Atlético Estudiantes, futsal has as scenarios the fields of the Don Bosco School, Atlético Neuquén Club and the Arab Union Society, beach handball will be carried out in the Arenas Sports Center of the Thompson Complex and rugby will be played at the El Plumazo headquarters of the Estudiantes club.

The Evita National Games, which this year celebrate its 75th anniversary, represent an opportunity for more than one million people from all over the country to participate in a federal sports competition that promotes diverse values and builds positive habits for the physical, sports, social and community development of its participants.
